In 2024 I floated the idea of creating a new set of meter panels for the S500 & S600 consoles. Thoughts have been mulling around in my mind, considering various options and possibilities. Having finally got the ideas on paper, the following drawings and notes show and describe the ideas. Soundcraft produced various versions of the console with several frame sizes, module types and module counts. When considering metering facilities, the points addresseded have been: • Can any of the existing meter panels or parts be re-used? Sadly, no. • Carefully consider costs of metalwork and electronics. • Channel meters for all mono modules. • Provide metering for 8 Groups • Provide a LED phase meter for the master L & R signals • Incorporate useful global control for meter source selection and control switching
